She has never been the type to sugarcoat much of anything, though she has learned to temper this a bit as she's grown and become a leader and role model for younger mutants. She is proud of being a mutant and she is unafraid who knows it, and unafraid to fight for it. some part of her childhood as a street rat still remains however, and to this day she loves a good practical joke, much to the dismay of her fellow team mates. As her powers were tied so closely to her emotions, she has trained long and hard to control those emotions. Some have accused her of being cold, but she still feels, she just knows that giving in to her emotions can have disastrous consequences. As such, she is level headed under pressure, keeping the team together when all hell is breaking lose. The only occasion this changes is when Ororo finds herself trapped in small spaces and her Claustrophobia kicks in. Remnants from her childhood when the building her family lived in collapsed and trapped her beneath the rubble.
Appearance:
Ororo stands at an imposing 5'11", with a slight and very athletic frame, one might even describe her as "willowy". She has very dark eyes, almost black, though when she uses her mutant powers they will turn white as if clouds were swirling across their surface. Her skin is a beautiful mocha, just like her mother's. Her most defining feature is her hair, which has been as white as newly fallen snow since the day she was born. This is a genetic trait passed down through the women in her family but also a marker of her mutant gene, she is known to dye it outrageous colors but they never last longer than a few days before the white returns. Having a deep love for fashion and jewelry, she is always dressed sharply, if a little eccentrically. She tries to incorporate her African tribal heritage in her designs and much of her jewelry is handmade from her Tribes in Africa. She keeps her nails long and manicured, and her make up is always on point. She has several tattoos and piercings, all of which she received in Africa for various tribal customs.

History:
David Munroe was an American photojournalist that was sent to Kenya on assignment. There he met a Tribal Princess named N'Daré, and fell in love with her white hair and dark skin. The feeling was mutual as by the end of the assignment he had convinced her to marry him and move away from everything she'd ever known and live with him in New York. While living in Manhattan, N'Daré gave birth to a daughter with her family's signature white hair and quite a lot of it. They named the girl Ororo, after N'Daré's grandmother, whom Ororo would never meet. When Ororo was six months old, David would take a more permanent assignment to Cairo, knowing how much N'Daré missed Africa he surprised her with it and their little family moved across the world again.
Everything seemed to be going well for the trio, Ororo was growing into the sweetest young girl, N'Daré was beginning to teach her about her heritage and Ororo was learning a multitude of languages from both her parents and the populace of Cairo that spoke a great deal of Arabic. N'Daré was even planning on taking Ororo to Kenya so she could see their homeland. This however would not come to pass. When Oro was five, a plane crashed into their building, nearly destroying the entire building and a few of the surrounding ones. For days Ororo was trapped beneath the rubble crying for her mother who's hand she held. Desperate with hunger, Ororo finally took it upon herself to wiggle free of the rubble, kissing her mother's forehead for the last time as she took the ruby that had always hung around N'Daré's neck. She wouldn't have been able to make it out on her own, but she did manage to get far enough that rescuers could hear her cries.
With everything going on, it was easy for a little girl to slip through the cracks and that was exactly what Oro did. Now an Orphan with no parents and no way to find the family she'd heard so much about, Ororo was left to fend for herself. She would not make it out of the ordeal unscathed herself, now with the demon of Claustrophobia hanging over her head. Having never lived a day on her own, Ororo was lucky to be picked up by a gang of street urchins. Just a bunch of orphaned kids, stealing what they need to survive. Once they judged Ororo to be one of them, the gang took her back to the man that led them. Achmed El Gibár was as close to a father figure as many of this kids ever had, and he trained them all to be the best thieves they could be. Ororo especially seemed to pick up on things very quickly and he took a special interest in her. He did note how odd it was that whenever he would hear Ororo crying in her bed, it always seemed to be raining.
While doing her rounds one day, Ororo spied a newcomer to Cairo. When she reported this to Achmed, he told her to leave the bald stranger alone. Ororo couldn't resist the temptation however and she nicked his wallet from him. This was short lived however, as this stranger spoke to her not with words, but with his mind. He smiled as he held his hand out to her, no hint of anger on his face at the girl who'd just stolen something from him. If anything he looked as if it was the most excellent joke he'd ever seen. This stranger would later become one of the most important people in Ororo's life.
One night, at the onset of puberty, Ororo awake from a deep sleep. As she opened her eyes, clouds darted across her vision as her powers awakened. Trapped in a trance like state, Ororo leaves Cairo and begins a journey that would take her months and thousands of miles to complete. Much of this journey is still incredibly hazy and despite Jean offering to help her remember, Ororo knows she may have done terrible things and doesn't want to remember. For months afterwards she had terrible nightmare, flashes of a man's face contorted in terror as he turned to ice. Nothing seemed capable of stopping her as she traveled across Africa to her homeland of Kenya. The trance would only conclude as she came face to face with an old tribal priestess who seemed to be waiting for her arrival. Exhausted, covered in dirt, with tattered clothes and shoes that were falling apart, Ororo collapsed into her arms and slept for three days.
Ainet was her name, and she would train Ororo to use her newly awakened abilities. This was a very spiritual time for Ororo, as she connected with her people, her powers, and her ancestors. Many tribes would begin to worship her as a sort of Goddess because of her abilities, and she even became friends with the royal family of Wakanda. One of her hardest lessons came during a particularly devastating drought that threatened a great many lives. Though Ainet warned her of the repercussions, Ororo couldn't stand that thought of her people suffering. Standing on one of the tallest mountains in the region, Ororo channeled her power and summoned a massive rain storm. While this solved the drought problem, it created a catastrophic cascade that plunged nearly the entire continents weather into chaos. Ororo vowed never again to let her emotions dictate how she used her powers as the harm she caused was far worse than simply letting the drought run it's course.
Some years later, Charles Xavier would show up on her proverbial doorstep. Ororo would recognize the man as the stranger she once stole from all those years ago in Cairo. He explained that she was not a Goddess as the tribes thought her to be, but a mutant like himself. He asked her to help him rescue a group of fellow mutants, to help them as she had helped her tribes. Something inside Ororo was telling her to trust this man, that this was the next step in her destiny. She accepted his offer, joining the other newly recruited Mutants in the daring rescue of Xavier's X-Men. They gave her the codename "Storm" and once the rescue was over, Ororo decided to return with them to the Institute in New York and join them officially.
It was quite an adjustment from her life in Africa to New York, but she quickly made friends with her fellow mutants, most notably with Jean. The two would become inseparable as Jean helped Ororo adapt to American life. Ororo was thirsty for knowledge of the world she'd been ignoring while learning to control her abilities. Between her new training, her schooling, and missions with the X-Men her life became incredibly busy but that was just the way Ororo liked it.
One such mission took them into space, allowing Ororo the chance to explore her abilities in ways previously closed off to her. On their return from this mission, their ship became caught in a cosmic radiation storm. Her control over such space anomalies could not save them and so it was up to Jean to save them. Ororo didn't want to leave her best friend but the other X-Men were able to pull Ororo into the cargo hold with them.
Once back on Earth, as Jean adjusted to being the host to a cosmic entity, Ororo swore she would never leave Jean alone like that again. This would be put to the test as the Shi'ar, supposed allies of the X-Men, took Jean and the other X-Men Prisoner with plans to kill Jean in an effort to kill the Phoenix Force within her. Ororo refused to let this happen of course, and the X-Men entered into a trial by combat in order to save their friend and team mate. Losing had certainly not been the outcome Ororo imagined, but the Shi'ar were a powerful people in their own right. Jean selflessly decided to end her own life to save her friends, but the Phoenix Force would not let it happen. Begrudgingly, the Shi'ar were forced to let the X-Men return home.
Despite Ororo's feelings on the Shi'ar after that, some years later the Shi'ar again ask for their help. Jean was able to convince Ororo that it was the right thing to do and with Carol Danvers in tow the X-Men returned to space in order to help the Shi'ar in their fight against the Brood. Carol was captured and experimented on, becoming the entity known as Binary and decimating the Brood Homeworld. With no sign of Carol, the X-Men were forced to return to Earth without her.
Ororo splits her time between the Xavier Institute as a teacher and the X-Men and her tribal duties in Africa. She is a busy woman with the weight of the world on her shoulders but that doesn't mean she can't have some fun now and again.
